Quote: Japanese - Roughest Hatman Philip Frazer - Morning Mr. I'm looking for a reggae/roots/dub style song which I lost a few years ago and not had any luck finding. The song started off with a robotic voice the same as Soundwave from Transformers the cartoon for about 5 seconds.

It then continued into a beautiful reggae song, slightly dub like. There is another bit in the song later when the same robot voice re-appears for about the same amount of time. I'm sure the first couple of lines in the song had the word 'rasta' in them. I think it was: rasta warrior, or rasta soldier. On the same tape which I'm 70% sure was made up were also Lee Perry's 'Jungle' and Jah Lion's 'Wisdom'. I hope somebody can help me with this. It's a great song.

Thank u so much! Woke up from a dream with a single repetitive verse from (one or two) reggae songs dating back to my childhood from the early/mid 1980's. The song(s) were sung by a man; i say plural because I'm not quite sure if the verse was a combination of two songs. The lyrics went something like this: 'rude layday. RUDE LADAYYYYyyeahhh.' Then I heard the verses 'I'm nobody's fool'! It seemed to sound more of a love song, with a mellow, motown/jive vibe, and the artist singing had a Caribbean accent, as well as his back up singers, giving off that reggae vibe!

Would anyone from back in those days (quite possibly from the baby boomer generation), know who may've sang that? I do remember my stepfather had a Reggae record album that was royal blue in color, and on the front cover of the album was a photo of crystal pyramid! I absolutely adored that album, but because I was so young, I don't remember the artist of that album, or if the song from my dream is likely related to that album. Any help on this one? Would love to add the song to my growing collection on iTunes. I grew up in the 80's so around that timeframe with the lyrics; 'Oh what a hell when you end up in a jailhouse, wo yoi' 'Say what a tribulation when you end up on a curfew, wo yoi bad boy' 'Bad boy mind, you end up in a jailhouse, wo yoi' 'The first time me say your gone in a jailhouse' 'The next time me say your gone on a curfew' 'The next time me say your gone in a penitentiary' 'Man you're gone rub a century' 'But your friends say it's better than the cemetery' Sort me out guys:-).

Hi,I ended up on this Forum because I was looking for a tune I do not know the name of, or the Artiste. The tune was on a mixed tape I bought sometime between 2000 to 2003 lyrics were like:' jump and shout (yeh) put up your hands and jump and shak out,(yeh) junior Rodney running the route, (Yeh) this is a new fashion a brand new style'.etc etc. With a wicked Bass line, now it was just a mix not the entire tune, I have been through your list, or should I say very Impressive list, but still cannot find that tune. Could you help me please. ^^^^ Completely disagree with the above statement in regards to 90s riddims being all based on 80s riddims. Just curious, how old are you? SOME not all 90s riddims are derivatives of 80s tunes but just like it was for Hip-Hop the 90s was the golden era for Dancehall.

Classic riddims from this time period include: Showtime Playground Filthy Tattie Dance Pepperseed Arab Attack I could go on and on. Remember this is also the time period that producers like Steely & Clevie, Ward 21 (late 90s), Jeremy Harding, Tony Kelly & his brother Dave Kelly dominated. This was also the time period where artist started experimenting more (Beenie Man's 'Nuff Gal' and Buccaneer's 'Sketel Concerto' were two HUGE genre bending records of the 90s) I'll agree and say the production of today is not up to standard but there are still a few people out there producing solid riddims (Snowcone & Ward just to name two). Can any one help me please?

I am looking for 2 reggae songs. It has been over 20 yrs since I have heard them. I think they were on a strictly reggae ablum or something like that. Songs go something like this.(she's a dangerous woman with dangerous eyes & if your looking for trouble she will cool you tonight.34, 24, 36.)something like that. The other song goes.

(Give it up, give up the loving cause she don't want no more from you cause I can do what you can't do.) I keep thinking maybe Tiger or cobra or someone like that sings one of them. Thanks for any info. Love this thread!!!

Ive been looking for 2 songs now for what feels like YEARSSS. Im hoping somebody can help me. The first one i thought sounds like Elephant Man, but im not sure. All the song says is something 'Ay yayayaya ay ya ay ya ' and thats about all i can remember it says. Not many lyrics to it, just a fast paced song to dance to. I think he says Jamaica first before he breaks out with the 'Ay yayay ay ya ay ayaya'. They usually play it in dancehall clubs/ events for twerking competitions for a few seconds until they move on to the next girl.

The next song ive been looking for it for AGESSSS. Im not sure who sings it but whoever the artist is reminds me of Lukie D for some reason, his voice. The lyrics go something like chorus: ' which gyal liked, which gyal cool, who got the silver, who got the cool, tell me ah yuh, tell me ah yuuuuuh ooh Verse: 'Never seen a body lookin like yuh.(forgotten lyrics).cuz everything you wear you know its brand new.

Nobody couldnt take your placeee.(forgotten lyrics). And then the chorus again.

If i can atleast find the riddim ill be able to find the track. Nicky B's Mi Wah Fi Know is also recorded on that particular riddim but its NOT Crystal Clear Riddim like the original Nicky B song. Anyone pleaseeeeeeeee?!??! Hey guys and gurus I need help locating a few songs from back in the late 80's, if possible I would like to get the mp3 files, 1.Life Muddup- Peter Metro 2. Winner - fragga ranks 3. Sorry Part 2 - junior rodigan, and the last one I dont know artist or name of song but its on the ' you should have known riddim' and the chorus goes - see dem ah see dem ah see dem ah run come, watch how the girls them come fi have some fun.

Bulla john aslo sang rod of correction on that version of that riddim, thx in advance. This forum is amazing, I think all of my favorites are listed.

Sister Nancy, Dawn Penn, Althea & Donna, Lady Saw, Yellowman, Buju Banton, Terror Fabulous, Barrington Levy. I just made a mix and about half the songs and almost all of them were already listed.

I have one to add: Frighty & Colonel Mite - Life (Is What You Make It). I also have a song, that I loved in the 90s but it could be from any time period before that. I taped if from a Sunday radio reggae show that I always listened to.

But I did not get the artist. It is a female singer, and my memory might be a bit foggy but it goes something like this. 'Best Friend, me no want best friend. She lena wan a best friend. Me no want best friend.

Let me tell you story 'bout the girl lived next door to me. What her name again.oh yeah.Nancy. She had a best friend.and she moved in closely.' Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! Quote: Hi Folks.

There was a song done either I believe in the 80s about a school teacher welcoming her students back to school after the summer holidays where she asks each of them what they did over the holidays. The chorus was 'roll a little spliff and take a whiff.'

Could any of you guys pls help with the title and/or artist? Did you find out who this tune was I was looking for it too? Bigga Bounce Ent did answer but the link doesn't work thanks RFD Rita Marley - One Draw (Extended Version). Somebody who is familiar with reggae songs from the 60's or 70's please help me. I was listening to a Reggae station in the area of Clifton, NJ and I didn't look at the name of the station. I did note the time as 7:30 pm when they played a fantastic song.

At the end I caught the D.J say it was from a female artist no longer alive called SHIRLEY? I didn't catch the last name. He said the song was called.' The only lyric that stands out is 'I've got a fire burning in my soul.' The song is really beautiful and sounds like the soulful female singers of the 60s.

Please help me find this song! I agree, so much music, I live in Brooklyn NY (not what it was in the 80's-90's) i grew up on all this digital dancehall music. But its very hard to find. Ironically in Panama I can find all this music with little effort. On you tube, search 'la tanda del bus' for so many Panamanian selectors juggling all these tunes.

This was the music the that was played on the private bus routes in Panama. 5am listening to Ninja Man, Flouergon, or Courtney Melondy in a painted school bus with house speakers kicking bass on the back of your head. Ahhhhh that brings me back. HELLO GUYS IM LOOKING FOR 2 SONGS BOTH ARE VERY OLD.

I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THESE SONGS FOR 15 YRS NOW AND HAVENT GOTTEN ANYWHERE. MAYBE SOMEONE HERE CAN HELP. 1) MAYBE FROM THE LATES 70's EARLY 80's THERE WAS A FEMALE REGGAE VERSION TO GROOVY SITUATION. (THAT BOY GONNA MAKE HIM MINE IF IT TAKES ALL NIGHT CAN YOU DIG IT CAN YOU DIG IT CAN YOU DIG IT.) I THOUGHT IT WAS BARBARA JONES BUT IT IS NOT HER. 2) I THING THIS ONE IS FROM THE 80's.

IT IS A MALE SINGER. HERE ARE THE LYRICS FROM WHAT I CAN REMEMBER: 'WE WERE JUST HAPPY GO LUCKY. KISSING AROUND TO HAVE A GOOD TIME.

NEVER KNEW WHEN TO DRAW THE LINE WITH YOUUUUU. YOU CAME INTO MY LIFE GAVE YOU WHAT YOU WANTED, WHAT YOU WANTED, WHAT YOU WANTED. YOU YES YOU, YOU CHANGED. YOU OH YOU, YOU CHANGED. SO TELL ME WHATS IT ALL ABOUT WHAT I DO I REALLY WANT TO KNOW.

WHATS IT ALL ABOUT YEAH YEAH EE. CAUSE I NEED TO KNOW AND I NEED TO KNOW RIGHT NOW. THATS ALL I CAN REMEMBER I HOPE SOME ONE CAN REALLY HELP ME WITH THIS THANKS IN ADVANE.

Hi I'm really hoping someone can help me find a song I have been looking for for 20 years now! I had it on a mix tape from Trinidad back in the mid 90s, but I was borrowing it from my brother so I don't know when he first got it. Anyway I was in a car accident and the tape got scrapped with the car, and I have been looking for this song ever since.

I don't remember all the lyrics, but the lyrics I remember go something like this (where I put something it's because I can hum it but don't remember the words. And the words I did get may be a bit off, it's what I could remember) 'something about the way that you walk, you know you got me hypnotized Something about the way that you something You know something something something something I need your love Yes I need something something something something For your love I pray Every time you come my way I want to hug ya, squeeze ya, kiss ya, please ya Yeah yeah yeah something something, oh with my love Something about the way that you something somethong somethin, something my body yeah yeah yeah yeah.' And then there is a piano bit that goes like: Da da da da da da da da daaa Daa. Da da da da da da da da da Daa. And these are the notes to match those da's on the piano: E F, D E, C D, B C, A E D# D D E, C D, B C, A B, G G G# A I hope someone has some idea what this song is! You have no idea how happy I will be to find it THANK YOOOUUU!! Forgot 1 more.

Im almost pretty sure its from Barrington Levy. All i remember is that he says 'swiiiiing. Swiddley daddley diddley woooooooah'. I checked Broader than Broadway, but thats definitely not the same beat i remember. Im thinking maybe some other artist took that part from the song, when Barrington sings 'swingggg, woah' and added it one of their own songs? Kind of like a tribute or a remix to him??

Buju Concert

Ahhhhh im at a losses end with this one. I cant think of any other songs with a tribute to the great Barrington Levy. Maybe a dancehall or hip hop song?? Thanks again yall. Quote: Forgot 1 more.

Thanks again yall That sounds like Shyne and Barrington Levy. If so, the title is 'Bad Boys'. There was a song that I can't remember but I believe it is titled 'memories'. I can't remember the artist name too. He was a dark fellow. There was a music video for it too. It went something like: Some girls will always be your friend Trust them and they become your problem No matter what you tell me - please Even go down on your knees The way you touch me The way you hold me Way you kiss me - Memories, Memories, Those are just memories There was another song too that I can't remember.

It was more of a rap song but it was like a hindi song ft. I need to find two tracks from the nineties, the first i think is a certain version of a choon i believe to be some kinda remix or cover of Garnett Silk's 'I am vex' the riddim is just a little more heavy, more militant kinda ragga vibe! And I don't think it's Garnett toastin' either, but I'm not 100% sure. This next one now, might be a bit more difficult.

It's got a kinda uptempo beat (the beat is supreme on this particular version I'm searching for). The vocalist is talking bout the man with the rubber leg that lives up in the hill (maybe mountain?) That comes down from the hill just to fight like a kung fu man style.!?!? Please, if anyone can help me to find these two tunes i would most appreciate it.

I can't remember the rest but I can heat the beats in my head. I believe it was on an album and the CD case had a picture of him on a horse with a gun in his hand, I think this was the album.

I though it was Cutty Ranks but doesn't seem so. I can't find this song anywhere. Please help ID this track for me!! It is greatly appreciated!!! Quote: Please help!!

There was a song's music video that used to play on cross caribbean countdown back in like 2004 on Tempo. I believe it was titled 'memories'. The man who sang it looked like Richie Stephens but I do not know if it is. It goes something like: -Pre-chorus- (Some girls will always be your friend) You Trust them and they become your problem No matter what you tell me baby please Even go down on your knees The way you touch me (touch me) The way you hold me (hold me) Way you kiss me (kiss me) Oh girl - memories memorieeees -Chorus- Memories, Memories, Those are just memories (Those are just) x3 Those are juuuuust. I remember this reggae song but don't know the name or artist and can't find it anywhere online: Nuff a them a bad boy, Oh gosh, Nuff a dem a say that them a rude boy.
