Gbu221 Windows 7 Driver
I just upgraded to Win 7 x64, and am trying to get my bluetooth headset to work. I loaded the WidComm drivers, Bluetooth is working fine, it see's and connects to the headset.
But if I fire up music with Media player I get about 1 second of audio, then silence. It continues playing but there is no audio. The slider on the volume control keeps moving. If I close WMP and reopen it, I get the same 1 second of audio then silence.
WMP works fine through the speakers if I unplug the USB Bluetooh or disconnect the headset. I tested the headset with my phone, works fine. I tested the headset under XP using the Widcomm XP driver and USB Bluetooth adapter, works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, several times, several ways, always with the same result.
HP DV6 IOGear USB Bluetooh Headset?? BTH S6A1 (??) klk klk. I got it working. Took battery out for 30 minutes. It still acted similiar. Removed the pairing.
Re paired, worked better but cut in and out. Disconnect, and turn off headset. Turned headset back on. It works!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Possiblity might be conflist pairing with phone (I moved the pohone upstairs right now).
Although when I tested with the Phone and XP the other day they were all together and it worked. So no definitive reason for the solution, BUT IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I had a real solution but it works. Thanks again for all the effort!! Kk, MCSE klk.
It's the Widcomm driver, now on the Broadcom site. Search for it with Bing. Adapter is IOGEAR GBU221 Headset is BTH-S6A1 by Celltrends. It is a stereo earbud headset. The headset works fine with my phone (WM6). And on my antique XP laptop using the same adapter and the XP version driver. I did install that HP driver, same results.
Again, it pairs fine, shows as connected in the Bluetooth device panel. I get one second of sound, and nothing.
If I restart WMP same this, 1 second of sound and nothing. The volume bar shows the headset as the device and the little volume marker is bouncing. We don't have this specific headset, but we've tested this driver version and can't reproduce the issue. Please check these things. Check if audio improves if headset is located very close to the adapter. Make sure that WiFi adapter is not too close to Bluetooth. Check if audio improves if WiFi is turned off.
If some other Bluetooth device is available like a PC or a phone, try sending a file to the other device and check data rates, and if data rates change if phone put further away. Thanks, Chris MSFT. I got it working. Took battery out for 30 minutes.
It still acted similiar. Removed the pairing.
